I’ve been seeing a massage therapist named João (one of the most common names in Portugal) for some lower back pain. We talked about the great weather we’d been having, and he said, “You better enjoy it while you can, because you never know when it will be the last time.” The cold and rainy winter is approaching.
It was with this in mind that Sara and I spent a few hours at the pool on a gorgeous afternoon this week. Sara has been longing for a hot tub/jacuzzi (bath tubs seem to be in the minority in Europe) and I wanted to be in the sun. We found a hotel that would allow us to do both – winning!

That evening we had dinner at Dona Petisca, a Portuguese restaurant near the Sé, the oldest cathedral in Europe (it even predates Portugal itself!).
