Mürren – Day 2

It felt wrong not to go exploring when we arrived yesterday, but I just didn’t have it in me. A good night’s sleep did wonders and we woke up, ready to go.

Many (most?) hotels in Europe offer free breakfast, and this one was especially good. Lots of coffee options + lots of breakfast options + pancakes and omelettes to order = A+ breakfast.

Hotel Mürren Palace is stunning. We are both suckers for a renovated historic hotel.

Here’s a quote from their website:

“The Palace has stood on the highest point of the mountain terrace in Mürren since 1874, proudly holding the title of Switzerland’s oldest Palace. In 2024, the historic hotel began a new chapter in its storied history, with the building extensively renovated and enhanced by a new extension.”

I took a walk through Mürren and up the hill where I watched the paragliders and felt a pang. I had planned to go paragliding. That is, until I realized that an abrupt landing at whatever miles per hour might not be good my lower back that had surgery less than six months ago. Next time.

What Sara was doing: Reading, knitting, resting, napping, etc.

Later, Sara and I went to dinner and walked through Mürren.
